Call to join the Lopez Island Library Board of Trustees The Lopez Island Library Board of Trustees seeks a new member to join our friendly collegial 5-member board. In conjunction with the director and staff, trustees set the direction of the library by adopting policies and long-range plans, assuring compliance with laws, and overseeing the library’s expenditure of funds. Board members also represent the interests of the community and are appointed to serve as stewards of its money, knowledge, and culture. Many skill sets are needed. The Lopez Island Library Board is a working board; responsibilities generally require about 10 hours a month. The application process: please send a Letter of Interest by August 12 detailing your reasons for wanting to join the Board, how your background and experience will contribute to the Board objectives, and your areas of interest. The Letter of Interest and any questions should be addressed to trustees@lopezlibrary.org. The Library Board is an organization that expects and encourages questions; after all, we are in the Information Business. The Library Board will begin interviews with applicants the week of August 26-30. |
