COMMUNITY ROOM HAPPENINGS
Improv Group Sets the Stage

The library’s Community Meeting Room is a free space used by the public in a variety of interesting ways. This month we're highlighting one particularly fun way that local community members are making use the space: Improv!

A growing group of Lopezians have been gathering weekly in the room – typically Mondays, from 7-8:30 – to practice Improvisational Theater. Although the intention of the group is to eventually create opportunities for performance, it is still in its early stages, with an open-door policy that encourages anyone interested to come along and try it out. For more details, please contact Daniel Alexander – (564) 202-5502.

We hope you find a way to use the Community Room. It's free and available to the public! Try it out when you have the need to bring a group of people together. If fact, you can book the room yourself.

ZERO WASTE PARTNERSHIP
Zero Waste Events

The Lopez Library has partnered with the Lopez Solid Waste Disposal District to ensure library events are in alignment with Lopez Island’s zero waste ethic. Now events hosted by the library have a lovely set of white and glass service ware, metal utensils, and ceramic serving ware. Simple changes like these both reduce landfill waste and promote reusability with style and elegance. Look for the “Zero Waste Event” sign at the next library event where food or drink are served.
