It's the 1st half of November!

We're switching things up with our newsletter. Instead of one monthly edition, you'll now hear from us twice a month, making it easier to keep up with everything happening at the library.

Here's what's happening November 1–15!
We are accepting bids for the Library Reroofing Project! This marks an important milestone in Project Little Red, a multi-year effort to preserve and improve Lopez’s beloved historic library for generations to come. Replacing the aging and leaking roof is a critical first step in protecting the building, safeguarding our collections, and ensuring the library remains a welcoming community space well into the future.

Qualified contractors are invited to review the project and submit bids. All relevant project information is available at https://lopezlibrary.org/reroof/.

We're immensely grateful to the community, donors, Friends of Lopez Island Library, San Juan County PFFAP, and Washington State Department of Commerce for helping us reach this exciting milestone!

Join Beth St. George for a leisurely bird walk around the village or farther afield. Walks are limited to 6 people and fill up fast to ensure a quality experience, so please sign up early to reserve your spot: 360-468-2265 or beth@lopezlibrary.org

Literary Salon: Wed, November 4, 4:30pm

Join Ingrid & Beth for this no-rules book club to share your favorite reads. Come & be a listener if you wish, and go home with a diversity of recommendations. Meets the first Wednesday, THIS MONTH ONLY (due to the Veteran's Day Holiday on November 11.)

The last SAL lectures of 2026 are here! Free to those with a library card thanks to the financial support of the Friends of the Lopez Library.
You must register to get the link, and registration closes a few days before the event -- learn more about the authors and register here!
