Many banned book authors receive hate mail from anti-LGBTQIA groups, as well as grateful mail from queer teens who feel validated by their books; experience loss of income from cancelled school visits and book sales, and denial from publishers for book proposals.

Classified: The Secret Career of Mary Golda Ross, Cherokee Aerospace Engineer
