It's August (already)! Here's what's happening at the Lopez Island Library
The Community Alchemist is in the house!

Nikyta Palmisani has joined the library team as Lopez’s own Community Alchemist, and we couldn’t be more excited. This six-month position will draw on Nikyta’s extensive experience in order to create gold for the community. She will assist in the formation of a future-focused Strategic Vision for the library, refresh our volunteer program, increase our ability to communicate and listen to the community, and support a range of innovative library programs.

To learn more about the great experience Nikyta brings to the position please visit our website.

PROGRAMS
One More Month of the Summer Reading Challenge!

Congratulations to our 4 mid-point prize winners! It's not too late to sign up for our Summer Reading Challenge - either online through our Beanstack or on paper at the front desk. Remember to get your free book for signing up if you haven't yet (adults too!).

We are encouraging all ages to read daily this year. Whether you are learning to read or reading to learn (or relax!), you will make the most progress through a daily habit.

To be eligible for completion prizes, please bring your reading calendars (if you're using paper) back to the library between August 20 and September 10. If you're using Beanstack, make sure you've logged all your reading by September 10. Prizes include: local gift cards to Isabel's, El Taco 'Bout It, Lopez Bookshop, Paper Scissors on the Rock; and more!
