The brilliant life of Eudora Honeysett

The COA Book Group will meet at the North Attleboro Senior Center on August 25. We will be discussing French braid by Anne Tyler. Any senior interested in attending should contact Brenda Takessian, COA Program Coordinator. Marjorie's Pick

I've always been fascinated by the Brontes - biographies, movies, the sister's novels themselves. Now there is a novel narrated by Emily entitled Fifteen Wild Decembers by Karen Powell.
The passionate imaginary world the siblings created and their real world of poverty and isolation make for a fascinating read.

Community Fiber Arts Circle

Starting Thursday, September 4th, Richards Memorial Library will be offering a monthly Community Fiber Arts Circle
on the first Thursday of every month.
Come crochet, knit, embroider, weave, etc. with fellow fiber crafters! Beginners welcome. Come work on your latest project, make new friends, and bounce ideas off of each other. There will be no direct teaching of fiber arts, but community guidance and sharing of ideas are greatly encouraged.

Open to all ages and experience levels (recommended
for ages 12 -  Adult).
Contact Orion (ooak@sailsinc.org) for more information.

Reading Challenge 2025

This year, Richards Memorial Library is joining the Mass Center for the Book Reading Challenge. The Reading Challenge is geared towards adults, although people of all ages can participate. Participants read a book each month in a specific category and fill out a monthly entry form using the Mass Center for the Book's Submission Manager.

Last year there were 1,500+ participants who read over 7,000 books. August's challenge is to read a book with a protagonist who is a teenager or senior citizen. We have a selection of books on display or choose another one you'd like to read.  Visit "Programs" on massbook.org to learn more.

Friends of Richards Memorial Library

The Friends invite you to take a look at this website and start looking around whenever you travel, because you will find these everywhere once you start looking! I saw seven different ones in Philadelphia last week! If you download the app, it gives you locations and the opportunity to check in whenever you visit. Fun for kids and a great opportunity for map learning without having to be teaching. They will want to figure it out! And there are several in our area alone!      https://littlefreelibrary.org
New information from Little Free Library:
Did you know we launched the 200,000th Little Free Library this year? In March we celebrated the installation of LFL#200,000 at Benjamin E. Mays IB World School in St. Paul, MN. That means there are now more than 200,000 registered Little Free Libraries in 128 countries across all seven continents! Yes, there's even a Little Free Library at the South Pole!
