Message from the Director
Happy New Year!
The Library is now open 30 minutes earlier Monday through Saturday!  Please note we close at 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday evenings.
New regular hours:
Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Friday – Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
 
Also, we have a new part-time library assistant: Christina!  We are pleased to have her as a member of the Library team.

Young Adult & Children's Programs   
You asked and we listened. We will have a Snowman and Gnome scavenger hunt from January 8 through January 28. Drop by the children's room any time during those dates and ask a librarian for a scavenger hunt sheet. Find them all and get a small prize!
 
Story times continue Monday and Thursdays at 10 am in the month of January, with the exception of January 1 and 15, when we are closed. Story times are best for children ages 1-6 with a caregiver. We will hear stories, sing songs, use finger play and movement, and then finish with a simple craft! 
 
STEAM cart days: Drop in any time Tuesdays between 10AM and 6PM or between 10 AM and 4PM on Saturdays for a new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activity!
 
Some of our activities include Snap Circuits (for children ages 5 and up with an adult), Magna Tiles, Keva Planks, Play-doh, Marble Run, Crafts, Pattern Play, and Legos! Find each day's activity on our website.
 
Chess club will meet on Thursday, January 4 and Thursday, January 18, from 6 to 7PM.  Children ages 6+ and teens or families with a basic knowledge of the game are welcome to stop by the Children's Room and play. Teen volunteers will be on hand to assist with questions, or play if needed.
 
Teen Buttonmaking will take place on Thursday, January 25th, from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm  Stop by the YA Area to Design and Make your own Pinback button! Collage, Draw, or use a picture from a magazine to create your own unique design.

The Library has purchased most of these titles and the rest are available through SAILS. To keep up-to-date on the latest titles, sign up for Library Aware newsletters, check the Bestsellers list on the RML website and open the SAILS catalog.
