Updates to the new fiction area! We made some changes to the new fiction area! First, the new mysteries are located on the shelves right outside the children's room, and they "melt" into the mystery section. Second, to give more visibility to the three book groups, the last set of shelves now house these titles. Both changes were made to better accommodate your browsing. The Reference and Circulation desks are happy to answer any questions about these changes.

We are excited to launch the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program on May 2! Register your child ages 0-5 (the earlier the better) for this fun and rewarding program. You will receive logs to keep track of everything you read to your child. Children will receive milestone stickers and watch their nameplate move along our wall. Upon program completion, children will also receive a prize and certificate! More information about this fantastic program can be found on our web site. Did you child participate in the library's Reading Dragons program between February and April but still need to redeem their logs for cards? Please visit the library by May 30. Join us for storytime Mondays and Thursdays at 10am. Hear stories, sing songs, get up and move, and do an easy craft. Storytimes are best for children ages 0-7. Weekly Thursday storytimes will end for the summer on May 14, and Monday storytimes will end May 18. Can't make it to storytime? Grab a Take and Make bagged craft from the front Reading Room on the first Tuesday of each month. This month's craft is a paper bag squirrel puppet and is great for children ages 2 and up. The STEAM Cart will be out in the Children's Room from 10am-6pm on Wednesdays and 10am-4pm on Saturdays. Each day, there will be a new STEAM activity for children to enjoy. Items include Snap Circuits, Legos, Minecraft blocks, Marble Run, Bristle Blocks, and Magna Tiles. Check out our monthly clubs! Chess and Checkers Club meets the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6pm. Open to children ages 6 and up, teens, and families. Some knowledge of the games is expected. Graphic Novel Club for ages 8 to 12 meets Monday, May 18, at 6pm. We will have a snack and do a craft. This is the final club meeting until the fall. Bring a favorite graphic novel to show the group. Lego Builders for all ages also meets Monday, May 18, from 1pm to 5 pm. Stop by and build something cool that we can display all month!
