The last day of the Children's Summer Reading Club is Monday August 17! If you've recorded minutes online, on paper, or over the phone, you can pick up a prize bag from the Children's Dept between August 17 and September 4. You may also call 631-286-0818 x2 to arrange curbside delivery. One bag per registered child.

We're still accepting entries for the Children's Book Cover Contest! Families, can you recreate the cover of a favorite children's book, and take a picture? If so, you can enter this contest! Email the picture(s) to childrens@sctylib.org by Aug 28, with the name of the book, and you'll be entered to win a fun family prize!

How Money Works Wednesday August 12 at two times 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM Diane Robinson explains the three root financial problems most families face: Failure to plan, being uninformed, and being misinformed. This seminar will discuss the Rule of 72, debt stacking, revolving debt traps, and how life insurance policies work.

This informative and interactive seminar will help you to understand and apply these principles so that you can change the face of your financial situation. Diane will be hosting this workshop via Zoom at 11 AM and again at 6 PM in order to reach as many people as possible. Beginner Guitar with Chris Fury Lessons 2 & 3 Thursdays August 13 & August 27 7:00 - 8:30 PM Chris returns to build upon that foundational first lesson to go from absolute beginner to actually playing the guitar. If you missed the first lesson, don't “fret” (there will be a review of the basics before going over chords and harmony). You will learn how to read chord diagrams, play major and minor chords and even strum a song or two. This is an interactive class with time for questions and answers throughout.
