Monthly Matinee:

The Boys in the Boat


Friday, September 6th, at 2:30pm, in the Library Auditorium
Join us for a screening of Boys in the Boat. Directed by George Clooney, and based on the 2013 book, the film traces the University of Washington's rowing team, from their Depression-era beginnings and their quest to compete in the 1936 Summer Olympics.

A Genealogy Starter Guide


Wednesday, September 11th, at 6pm, in the Library Auditorium

Are you interested in family history? Do you spend a lot of time in graveyards wondering about the names behind the stones? Then you just might be a genealogy enthusiast! Join us as Erin E. Moulton explores useful methods for research planning through the case study of Elsie Gaskin (an eccentric librarian from New Hampshire) and become a better researcher along the way.

LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH

National Library Card Signup Week!

Library Card Sign up is a great opportunity to tell friends and family about the wonders of having a library card! Every new library card sign-up and renewal will be entered into a raffle for a book swag gift bag! Recommend a friend or family member to sign up for a card, and be entered into a raffle as well.

COMMUNITY COSTUME SWAP

Starting September 21st, the CPL and the Baker Free Library will accept gently used costumes in anticipation of this year's Community Costume Swap!


MUSEUM PASSES

The CPL has an array of museum passes to choose from! For instance, The Woodman Museum in Dover, NH. The museum is a traditional early 20th-century style natural science, history, and art museum with exhibits for all ages.

This is a program for preschoolers (and their caregivers) that allows them the chance to explore a new STEAM topic each month.

Tuesday, September 10th, at 9:30am

Join us for 30 minutes of music, fun, books, and creative movement followed by 15 minutes of free play. For toddler through preschool-age children with their caregivers.

Tuesday, September 24th, at 4pm

Try your hand (or fingers) at folding fun and unique origami. This group is for kids 10 - 14 years old.
