Join Us for Outdoor Storytimes

Library storytimes are outdoors and in-person for July! Join Baby Bear and Miss Kim on the library’s 4th Street lawn on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM. We will explore joyful stories, songs, and poems celebrating the natural world all around us. Please bring blankets for your family to sit on. Following are a few audiobook suggestions to get you started. Happy reading . . . and walking!

Featherhood
by Charlie Gilmour

In this "vivid...lovely and inviting" (The New York Times) coming-of-age memoir—the "best piece of nature writing since H Is for Hawk" (Neil Gaiman)—a young man saves a baby magpie as his estranged father is dying, only to find that caring for the bird saves him. This is a story of two men who could talk to birds—but were completely incapable of talking to each other.
Give a Girl a Knife
by Amy Thielen

A food memoir chronicling one woman's journey from her northern Minnesota hometown to the intoxicating world of New York City fine dining—and back again—in search of her culinary roots.
Cork Dork
by Bianca Bosker

Professional journalist and amateur drinker Bianca Bosker didn’t know much about wine—until she discovered an alternate universe where taste reigns supreme, a world of elite sommeliers who dedicate their lives to the pursuit of flavor. Astounded by their fervor and seemingly superhuman sensory powers, she set out to uncover what drove their obsession, and whether she, too, could become a “cork dork.”

Strengthen our Community

The Stillwater Public Library Foundation shares your love and appreciation of Stillwater’s beautiful and historic library.
  • Our Vision: The Stillwater Public Library is celebrated as a world-class library!
  • Our Mission: To raise funds to enhance the library’s materials, programs, services and historic renovation beyond what the city is able to provide in tax monies.
We are so grateful for the support of generous donors. Since 2008, the Foundation has given nearly $1 million to fund library materials, programs, services and historic renovation. Learn more about how private gifts strengthen our library and our community in the 2020 Impact Report.
